Corona-Virus sweeping the world By Lucas Pisano

The Spread

This photo was taken recently in a city in china by the name of Taizhou. With the outbreak of the corona-virus going around there has been has been operations put in place to try to stop the spread of the disease. As days go by more and more people are getting effected but as seen in the photo and many others, professionals are hard at work trying to create a cure for this deadly disease.

The Threat

Looking deep into the photo we are able to see how and what researchers have discovered about the virus. The process of researching and trying to create this virus in a lab setting to create a cure has begun to take off. In Australia they have come out to say that they have successfully grown the virus in a laboratory and plan to continue to study it until the cure is found. Some of the key elements shown in this image is the scientists creating these detection kits in a clean and safe environment to ensure the best possible help. “Isolating and growing viral samples in standard procedure during the outbreak of a novel pathogen” (Dr. Peter J. Hotez, New York Times, 2020)

The Concern

This image appeals to me in the sense of it being a large scale virus that could very well infect any one of us It should be a topic to look into and keep up on in case it shows up here. Seeing how hard others are working to create a cure, really shows how we try to protect one another in times of crisis.. The spread of this virus has gone all around the world and cases of people catching the disease are being tracked. The corona-virus should appeal to others as well to stay on top of the concerns and threats. It may also appeal to others to see the process of researching a disease and creating test kits to help stop it in its tracks.
